    Thoughtful writeup Tim.

    Here in the U.S., it wouldn't surprise me if the courts considered texting and driving at the same time as *gross* negligence if it contributes to an accident.

    That's the same as driving while impaired (DWI), and the penalties are much more severe.

        Yeh, and they give you the look that YOU are disrupting Their day.

        I watch this the other day at Walmart, this girl was so busy texting that she did not see that she ran over my aunts' 84 year old mother. She looked up for a second and then went back to texting. Never noticing the older lady about ready to fall on the floor!
