  • Going fishing!

Since leaving Meguiar's on June 19th I've been busy installing a 454 Big Block Chevy into my 1975 GMC Jimmy. The Jimmy as well as the Blazer were never available with a big block so everything fit kind of tight. But with a little perspiration and persistence everything came together quite nicely.

You can read about the process and problems here,

Awesome Mike, sounds like you are getting in some good fun before having to move! Not to mention doing what you probably love, working on anything car related!

Why did you take the boggers off the front and leave them on the back?

I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.

      I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
      Remove swirls my friends.

        Have a great time Mike!

That 454 looks like it's home!

edit: Looked your story over Mike, that was a great write up! That engine bay looks brand new with the paint work you did!

My stepson's 67 Dodge D100 has been fun for me and the lad he has learned a lot and that old Detroit Iron is fun to work on!

            Sweet!

I skimmed the other thread. Great idea with the zip lock bags in parts. I'm horrible at remembering what goes with what.

            Have a blast Mike!!!

                Re: Going fishing!

It's hard to imagine anything being a tight fit in those old engine bays! Everything looks great, I hope you have fun with it.

Looks killer Mike...glad to see it finally all together. I see what you were talking about with the frame, dang that was a tight fit!

Looks great. How much did that set you back?

I could put a big block in my Cutlass, but I like the all original vibe. If my engine ever has irreparable problems, maybe I'll bump it up to a 442 or 455.
