  • Buffing Lights....Halogen...

I've been searching for a while now, trying to find some type of Halogen light to drop from my ceiling, to get a better view of hoods/roofs/deck lids. So far, I haven't found anything affordable. I've looked at dentist lights and making my own, nothing ever pans out.

I found this light today while strolling through the net, and it looks promising. Only problem is I have no idea what it's called, or where to get it Anyone have any ideas??? It looks relatively simple to make, so I may do that if I can't find something like this for sale.

What the heck did you use for search words? I spent quite a bit of time searching everything I could think of.

Those things are pretty pricey. Might go ahead and try to build one myself. I have quite a few extra halogen lights from previous broken stands. Might see if I can get those to work with a custom built arm.

I saw the word Fostoria on the white sticker of the arm in the picture you posted, so I searched for fostoria lights. I found a catalog page that seemed to be calling them loading dock lights, so I searched for halogen dock light and came up with that link.

I agree it would probably be cheaper to fab up an arm yourself and mount one of your existing halogens on that.

That looks like it would be the answer. I agree it is kind of expensive.

            Good thinking Nick!

I used to use those when I worked at UPS. The ones with the two hinge points would work great for detailing. You can also get them with fans mounted on them. That was nice working inside hot trailers.
