  • Detailing's version of wearing a belt with suspenders

I will have to look at Mike Phillip's thread of machine photos, but I don't recall ever seeing a polisher with both a bale and a right-angle handle. Although it does seem to make sense to have that flexibility to use one handle or the other, I don't know if I would ever use both at the same time.

The polisher is a ATD 7" Shop Polisher that retails for around $80.

    You never know!

    What make is that?

I went to see some machinery the other day. There was a DA by festool.

The price? Extortionate!.......It's speed settings were too high, though. Started at 3000+.

      3000 isn't too high for a DA.

The G110 starts at 2000+ to 6000+.going by the comparison chart. I stand corrected.

          The festool costs 500€'s here!

How much would it be in the states?

jmakado is right. We're talking numbers and settings for two completely different types of polishers. I think the normal range for a rotary polisher is between 600-3000 RPM (revolutions per minute). The range for most Dual Action Polishers is between 2500 - 6000+ OPM (oscillations per minute).

Thanks CC. I edited after checking the comparison chart.I got mixed up there. Even with what I've got,I don't bother with the speeds.i just go by the no.s on the dial and how it feels for what i'm doing. But,I don't have a DA yet.I just checked out a site in the states. It's about 500$'s.So not a cheap machine by any means.

              I checked out the data: 3000-6000 + and 300-500/600.

I can't remember the name of the site.I think 'tool shop or tool supplies' is the link after you type in festool polishers. There is a data sheet with adobe.....It's worth a read..!

The G110 sells for between $120 - $150, depending on who is having a sale.

There's a big price gap between these two.Having said that,it's made in germany....Everything that comes from there is really expensive, except for beer and sausages.
