Was it? I couldn't tell for sure. Well, just in case, I edited my previous post and put "machine" in place of "DA".

Re: If you're gonna fight, fight fair

Either way, all that really needs to said about Mr Boler is that he conducts unfair testings. hardly anyone values his opinions anyways, why else would he have to block his comments on you tube? half his testings are either performed in the parking lot of some run down autoparts store or at a detail shop where ColorX is improperly used with a rotary buffer. You would think the guy in that video would at leat read the back label.

Im not bashing him at all, i feel sorry for him and can only imagine how humiliating it must be to appear in one of his videos.

Thats all I really have to say and thats all that really needs to be said.

Re: If you're gonna fight, fight fair

I'm not really into bashing him as such either. But he deserves it.

He doesn't ever say,"hey this stuff is duff",but he does use other, subtle ways of badmouthing other companies(especially meg's).

That last video shows that he doesn't really know what he's talking about. If you're going to show that you have better products than someone else,at least start off with knowing what you are talking about. Then after that, you can use tactics to convince people.

Ciera said he couldn't spot any difference. Not easily, but I have to say,in this case, the colorX application was better. It did have better reflective qualities. So even doing it the wrong way,was better!

              Phil Boler cocky? You decide:

We demonstrate and sell the World's Finest Car Care Products one vehicle at a time! My father started our company 40 years ago in San Jose Ca. He started detailing cars to make a living and in that process developed some of the best products on the planet. Out of 4 children, I have been destined to carry our family legacy to the world. I am Phil Boler (Player 1) CEO of Production Car Care Products. I am highly trained in sales, auto appearance, and service to mankind. Connect with me as I take my products to the world.
              I'd Like to Connect With:
People who want their cars to look their best! For 40 years our company has sold our carwashing and polishing supplies to professionals nationwide. My goal is to get our products on your vehicle. I challenge any and all car polish manufacturers to a battle of results. I shall be in victory.

              From http://pathconnect.com/ViewProfile/D...aspx?id=113896

So, his company has been around for 40 years. Meguiar's has been around for almost 110 years. Yet his products are better, hands down? Oh brother.

Re: If you're gonna fight, fight fair

We don't want to start bashing on his father here.He doesn't have anything to do with this advertising campaign.

One thing though: Was he a chemist?

in that process developed some of the best products on the planet.

I'm just curious as to this statement. You can't concoct cleaning, cosmetic or protective products from a home chemistry kit.

                    Eh?...What the..?

                    That was awfull!

That won't do him any favours, selling his products.

I wonder if it says...'As Seen on YouTube' on his bottles?

Re: If you're gonna fight, fight fair

So, Phil Boler is the CEO of Production Car Care Products, correct? He can talk his products up all day long, and it probably won't do much good. What he should do is have a forum like MOL where people can talk about his products and their experiences with them, or he should hand out his products to people and videotape them using his products and their honest reaction, without him talking up his product and badmouthing opposing products before he even gets started. Like I said, it's like Barry Meguiar raving about Meguiar's all day long. Doesn't do any good if you don't know how actual consumers (and professionals) feel about the products in question. I wouldn't mind trying his products (I wouldn't buy them, of course, but I'd try them for free) and putting them on a car next to a car prepped with Meguiar's products and see how each one looks. Like do a complete detail on two identical cars, interior, engine, exterior, wheels, everything. Do the 4-step paint care cycle and see. I'd be really curious to see what would happen. I'm sure we could convince him to take the challenge.

                        This guy likes a challenge?......yes?

The Meg's detailers out there(there must be loads),should do a proper survey which is well photographed(photographs being much clearer),in conjunction with this chap, seeing as he's willing to use his stuff anyway.

There's no need for any agro.Just do as he's doing and ask if he would be willing to take part in a 'properly' conducted experiment.

I reckon he'll turn down the offer though. He gets away with his methods because the film quality doesn't have the clarity to show anything.

Guys... I know it can be frustrating to watch this guy's videos (it used to get to me too), but you really just have to laugh it off. I don't even think they are still in business, and if they are, good for them.

We all know better to think that their products are superior to Meguiar's, so just let it go and rest easy. It's not worth getting so worked up

Thanks for picking up on this Mark. It's just a bit of break room fun!

                            I think it's getting near it's date!!!

Well if he went out of business, that doesn't surprise me.I think people have a bit more sense than what we give them credit for when watching youtube ads....especially when the ad contains material that emphasizes on ridiculing others.I think he shot himself in the foot,so to speak....

Re: If you're gonna fight, fight fair

Did a little more digging on the internet and came up with some reviews on Mr. Boler and his products. Reviews are from http://www.clublexus.com/forums/auto...-products.html

                              * Hmph, that little poser still did not enable the comments. Avoid this guy at all costs man, his "professional" reviews are little more than comparisons against Consumer Grade products. Me, and plenty other detailers who had the slightest idea what was going on commented and destroyed the credibility of his tests. He had the nerve of deleting and disabling most of the comments in his videos as a result.
My advice, if you want to buy professional products that pits their products against another, make sure the products are aimed at "professionals", not consumers. That is the major mistake that man did.

                              *
He was always saying that his Professional products are beating competitors Consumer Grade products. Usually thats a given in the manufacturing world. Take ColorX for example, IIRC its hand only at the time of the video, yet they used it with a rotary and somehow came out with better results with ColorX (hard to catch but the guy polishing states it) than the Production Car Care polish lol
Its just a bunch of unprofessional reviews from Phil Boeler thats all. He distorts the truth in many ways. He would be rolling in $$ if it werent for the fact that everyone called him out on it in his vids.

                              * I use Production at work, their cleaners and body shine work as they should but their waxes for the exception of their paste stuff - I haven't used the rest, we only use AX-313 is decent at the least. It powders like nothing else. I've haven't used their compounds. Production serves mostly NorCal, but I think between Production and P&S, P&S blows Production away.
Production's chemistries are from the 1970's. I refuse to use their dressings as they're silicone and petroleum distillate rich. I wouldn't use them for more than cleaning and exteriors.
/edit - I used some of their Phase II cleaner/wax over the weekend. It actually works quite well FWIW.
