Meguiars makes great products and stands behind them. What i especially like, is that Meguiars has a rather open forum and other companies/products can be discussed (within the rules of conduct). To me, that states the Meguiars is comfortable in the performance of their products and is willing to take advice on either improvements/additions to their product line. I think the rollout earlier this year of UC, SwirlX, UQW is in direct response to demands by members here and for fufilling needs in the OTC market. In regards to the videos mentioned, I think that the glaring bias undermines its intended purpose.

Bias on whose part? Phil what's-his-name? I don't think it would have mattered what product he tested his "miracle-in-a-spray-bottle" against. He had already convinced himself that his product was better, so his little "test" wasn't really fair even before he started it.

Has he done a carnauba demonstration with hands yet?

The ridiculousness of his videos is what made this thread necessary. The fact that he specifically chose a company, obviously one we all are rather fond of, and chose to trash-talk it and use some kind of ignorant rhetoric and testing method to back his ludicrous assertions.

I also thought some of the problems I mentioned were both cringe and chuckle-worthy.

How can anyone expect to sell car care products with poor quallity videos or HD video. Either way, he's no Willis Loman.

I can understand the mudslinging, because thats somewhat fair technique, but telling people what to say, now that's just sleezy.

My favorite one is his "new car polish" vs Simple Green STAINLESS STEEL cleaner/polish. STAINLESS STEEL......STAI.......er.......well.....you get the idea.

That test subject sure as heck didn't look like a DeLorean to me.

True.He's doing this so people are overly impressed with his stuff,because Meguiar's is such a well known company and millions of people use it,and get great results.He could pick on another,like one of the exotic ones,but most folks don't know what that stuff is anyway.

Is this guy from california? No matter.Wherever he is,there must be a lot of Meg's detailing guys out there,nearby.

I would do this.Go out to his shop.Park outside where there is public parking,but with his shop in view and do exactley the same detailing steps that he has done,using Meg's equivalents on 2 or 3 cars with a crew of Meg's fans/detailers.Film it on a camcorder,properly(good quality),with his shop in the background and then post it on Youtube.

Hey...If He can do this and get away with it,so can you.Except the difference being,you are not bashing or attacking any other products.

If I lived nearby,that's what I'd do...because I know how good Meg's is and would not have any worries whatsoever!
