In this vid they tested some sort of cleaner polish/compound or something of the sort against ColorX, a cleaner wax. Phil was already bad-mouthing the ColorX even before the test, which was supposedly "fair". I was rather amused when he said that only the pros used Production products. Guess Mike Phillips and Superior Shine and Nick Chapman and TH001 and Tim Lingor and Rasky and all those others are just idiots who have been doing it wrong this whole time . Amusing, but sad really. Both applications were by machine, but they didn't let the ColorX dry. At first glance the DHL guy said the Meguiar's side was better, which it probably would have been had he used a wee bit more product and let it sit for 5-10 minutes and then removed it. I personally couldn't see any difference between the two sides of the van. Does this guy ever stop?
To me, products have to sell themselves. Barry Meguiar could rattle on all day about how good his products were and how they were so much better than everybody else's, but he doesn't have to do that. Look at the new products Meguiar's recently came out with. All they have to do is make the products and stick them on the shelves and people will buy them. Of course, it's a little more complicated than that, but I think you get my point. Nobody sold me on Meguiar's. It sold itself after I had a not so good experience with Turtle Wax. If it's good, it'll sell itself. If not, then bashing everybody around you claiming your product is better isn't going to accomplish a dang thing.
Not if we stay in the forum rules. If anyone lets this get out of line it will be closed. Here's a video of Phil testing his New Car Polish against Adam's Detail Spray. He's doing this in direct sun, and from the video I honestly cannot see a difference between the two sides. Yet Phil seems to have a very cocky attitude about himself.
Okay,i know some here are upset by these vids, and I can understand that. They are so stupid(I watched them all),that they are funny.Unfortunately, people who don't know much about detailing don't see it that way, which is not funny.
Not one of videos were clear enough to tell any difference.I don't understand his product....'polish',but looks like a quick detailer? and compares it to stainless steel cleaner(on paint?),colorX,UQD,DC2,BC wax.
If this stuff(QDpolish?)can do all this, why does he sell a large variety of different products?
He very well might. There was a thread like this on Autogeek's forum. I made a comment on a thread that he acts like a used car salesman on one of the videos. In the video he has a tooth pick in his mouth and is constantly pointing at he camera. It was humorous.
Later that day I got a PM from him saying something like:
"Dude, that used car salesman comment was not cool, not cool at all.
Call me on my cell phone, xxx-xxx-xxxx I am always willing to defend our products."
I still have the number in my cell phone.
Oh, well give me the number so I can call and annoy him.
I'll pretend I'm a telemarketer selling Meguiar's products.
If only Phil Boler knew he had a five page thread on him here at MOL.
