  • Need custom car parts, where do I get...?

Hello beloved community of Meguiars Online. I'm looking to do some minor modifications to my 07 CTS and I did some research but found no success... Here's what I need:

    1. Custom pedals. My car is automatic, and I want to get a set of custom gas/break pedals. I want the option to engrave words onto the break pedal or footrest. Anyone know where I can get this done?

    2. Custom seat covers. My car has seatbelt integrated into the seat, so most universal seat covers won't work. My car's interior has gray leather seats with black inserts, and I want one cover, not a set, just one, for the driver's seat, with inverted colors - black with gray insert. Anyone know where I can buy something like this?

    3. Custom steering wheels cover. My hands sweat in hot weather, like most people, and having a steering wheel with wood trim doesn't solve the grip problem. I want a steering wheel cover, colored black/gray, and being able to add letters and or Cadillac logos on it is a plus, but definitely not necessary.

    Any recommendations?

For the seat covers, try PrecisionFit.

Head over to www.corvetteforum.com and do a search. Several vendors there make custom pedals and many fellow Vette owners purchase custom leather seat covers/steering wheel covers regularly.

But I don't want to buy a set of covers... I just want one. I want to save the extra $100, because I'm not going to put both on anyway.

        Will check it out, thanks!

I found nothing on custom pedal makers, but did find a custom steering wheel maker. How hard is lacing up a cover? I was looking for a slip on, so it's easy to put on and easy to take off when I want to clean it or something.

Hmm your requests are interesting but I have never heard of engraving in pedals, you could maybe look into getting some strutking pedals and have someone engrave them for you? And are you only wanting one seat cover?

Yeaup, I only want 1 seat cover... I've looked everywhere online, they either only sell sets, or they sell single universals. And no universal seat cover accommodates seats with integrated seatbelt.

Do the seats have airbags? One thing to check before covering it up if it does...

Custom pedals; check these guys out: http://www.ultimatepedals.com/
(Side note: the pedals on the main page look just like the one's my father CNC machined for a company for Porsche's.)

                  Steering wheel covers: http://www.wheelskins.com/

                  Seat covers: http://www.seatsavers.com/QuoteRequest.php
Most places sell in a pair, I'm assuming that is for cost reasons etc., for making a single cover. This place does have the option for integrated seat belts. Gave you the quote page so you can pick the options, etc, and get a hold of them about what you want.

^Thanks! I just contacted Seatsavers, the price of their covers for two seats is less than the price I've seen at most other sites. Just waiting to hear back about the one seat price.

And how hard is it to string up a steering wheel cover? I was looking for something slip-on.

OK, so I decided to tint the windows myself. Anyone recommend any pre-cut tints? I'm looking for something of good quality, but not too expensive. Also, do I have to have a heat gun for the tint job? Can I use a blow dryer instead? This video shows a tint job without a heat gun. Also, would you recommend 35% grey or 50% black? I don't want anything too dark.

I sure am, but honestly, you guys have provided more info on this topic than those 20 year olds who are too full of themselves to take the time to help anyone out.

                            Tinting windows is a pain!
I've done all my cars and I can get the sides done ok.
But the back is always the hardest.
The problem is the quality of the tint.
In order to do a Professional Job you need Professional Tint
This stuff runs about $300 bucks a roll. So it's almost the same to have it done.
My experience with pre-cuts is they are to small and the quality stinks!
But give your side windows a try and you'll save some money.
Just remember to start from the bottom.
Yes you can use a hair dryer
The last tint I bought was Black Magic from wally world, like $12 bucks.
                            Worked fine,

I would just have them tinted professionally. It really isn't that expensive, and most legit places have lifetime warranties for their tint as well.

What's wrong with us 20 year olds?
