If it's a harness, then it could be for your airbags and seatbelt warning sensor. The harness should have a clip allowing you to separate it for easy removal of the seat. But wait for one of the Ford owners to chime in.

I have played with the little clip for over an hour now, this thing stinks!

Hi Zuke,I can't really give you any advice on your vehicle. One thing though,do you have heated seats?

BE VERY CAREFULL! If it's air bags, you don't want one of them going off while you're working there!

Can you check online, forum etc, for your vehicle?

Shouldn't be anything special. Use a thin standard screwdriver to depress the tab while you pull the connectors apart. Depending on the connector type, there might be a tab on each side that you'll need to depress at the same time while pulling apart.

Post up a pic of the connector if you can't get it apart.

            Re: Removing seats?

I have removed the seats in every vehicle I have owned to steam clean the carpets and put seat covers on....you get the point. I have never seen it connected to the airbag. Look at the clip it should have a tab or release, they are pain but if you can get someone to help hold the seat up you will be able to get both ands on it. Oh, and yes I took the seats out of my Ranger a couple of times, years ago. Hope that helps.

If you haven't already, check with a Ford Ranger forum, their core members can probably guide you to a thread or get you an answer.

Sorry for the delay, because the whole casing was really hard to get to and stuck to the bottom of the seat very well it took me a while but i finally figured it out. WIsh i could had taken pix but i will be doing this all again soon when i can get a seatbelt wrench, whatever you call that design. Used APC on all the vinyl and it looks brand new, I will be doing a write up on how to properly remove the seats on my ranger fourm but ill throw it on here too. Thank everyone. Oh btw....i just got approved for a loan, i cut my intrest rate from 14 to 4.25 % on my truck. ADS order here i come!
