    Re: Misfiring/Backfiring/Loss of Power/Something

Hmm, don't think it would be the EGR; would throw a different code for that I would think. Bad gas? Maybe, but unlikely.

Since it is a multiple cylinder misfire code, see if they check the coils/coil pack, wires, injectors, plugs, fuel pressure, fuel pump strainer (fuel pressure), injector relays and control circuits, and the PCM itself. The first few are usually the most likely culprits.

Well after machining the cylinders and replacing the spark plugs, valves and lifters they went for a test drive and it just completely died in the middle of the road.

Looked at it some more and said there was gas in the CAT and muffler, fixxed that and the same thing happened.

Now they are putting a entirely new engine in there from the pan up.

Wow, a brand new engine. Do they have any clue on what caused this?

Apparently not, lol. From what they did, it doesn't sound like they are capable of much. Machining the cylinders? For what? A bad muffler causing this? Very, highly unlikely.

No wonder they went under; paying dealerships like this money, and then more money to keep fixing things that aren't the problem. I'd imagine this new engine would take care of the problem, as long as they don't touch the muffler...

My dad's thoughts and mine exactly. See the thing is we could care less because we are going to pay $100 whether the replace a $5 part or put a brand new engine in. LOL. We've already got them to put a new transmission, transfer case, torque converter and rear axle under warranty even though we cleary were misusing it. The rear axle was cracked open and my transfer case had mud in it..haha.

O well, I'm not complaining at this point.
