If you don't already know, the premise behind Twitter is you sign up and either post a bunch of <140 character text messages (updates) or you subscribe to other people doing just that. Anyone use it? Anyone use it for detailing? Everyone who has Twitter should mention Meguiar's as much as possible. I think it's a great way to spread the word even further. Maybe sometime in the future, Meguiar's will get a Twitter page like they have on YouTube. One thing that's awesome about Twitter is that you can subscribe to a blog (example: Meguiar's) and then choose to get their updates on your phone. So if you have text messaging, you can keep up with all of the news. It's kinda fun. A little different than MySpace/Facebook. It's really just a unique blog site.

Another great opportunity is for detailers: You can write little messages like "Check out this hood restoration: [link to photos/video/etc...]" or "Just finished Joe's Charger: [link here]", etc... And that way you can keep your customers updated on your work and you can link to your Twitter page on your business card so that new customers can see what you've done before choosing you. In fact, I think as a whole, Twitter is best for business use because for example, I'm much more interested in reading "Paul Pierce just put up a 3 at the buzzer to defeat the Mavericks" than I am "Hey guys, I'm sitting on the toilet right now."

In any event, I just wanted to bring up the subject and see how many of you use it and what you think about it.

      Re: Twitter

I went to a Social Network Marketing Tech Talk the other day. The guy was offering advice on how to get your web site boosted to the top of Google search. His suggestion was to get on every social network (MySpace/Facebook/Twitter...) that you could find!
Use the RSS feeds back to your site and link your site to everything, and everything back to your site, and so on. It's a lot of time consuming work (or play), but it's typically free.

I personally just can't stand to read every little detail about someone. I think the idea is your suppose to "follow" someone? And they're suppose to follow you.
