Today I received a confirmation e-mail from the department of public works and safety on the Navy base that I work at. The confirmation was in response to a suggestion I submitted via their website to place speed bumps in the large parking lot adjacent to my building. My request will be reviewed and evaluated.
The reason I listed was safety. Too many drivers , both civilian and military, speed through that parking lot because the it is so large that the access paths between parking rows are like straightaways. But I admit my primary motivation was because of all the dust that gets kicked up by the rooster tails from the speeding cars. My freshly washed and detailed car gets coated in a fine silicate-sandy dust everyday. It drives me to distraction
Was I wrong? I hang my head in shame... (do we have a paper bag over the head icon?)
