  • New addition to the family!!!!!

She got a beauty-full 2010 528. It's a lease just like the X5 but i think she'll keep this one. It is too cool, all kinds of bells and whistles, auto cornering lights, nav, bleutooth, & tons more.

too bad Texas has that stupid front plate law...
It came home yesterday and I HAD to wash it today.

Best of all, the rims are really easy to clean. Anybody know what coating these are?

    I'm thinking paint/cleared.

nice car, I have used Gold Class All Wheel Cleaner on those wheels with no issues before, but that was on a 2007 model.

Those wheels look like the same type of wheels on the '08-'09 Honda Accords. The Accord wheels are silver painted alloy wheels. I imagine All Wheel Cleaner or Multi-Piece Wheel Cleaner would work the best. Then you could just seal them with Cleaner Wax or NXT 2.0 and wash them with car wash soap.

yep I used all wheel on the x5's rims, but they were so neglected, they looked like they had more freckles than Morgan Freeman.
Until they get absolutely filthy, I'll keep using the car warsh formula w/ a MF.

good thinkin', should I use cleaner wax then the tech wax? Those BMW brakes are DUSTY. I'd really like to take the wheels off one by one to clay bar and wax the whole thing... I'm sure that wouldn't aggravate my mom too much. LOL

It's up to you. Considering how much heat wheels take, I'd say NXT 2.0 will hold up better over Cleaner Wax, and it'll probably last longer, but that's your call. I'd say just plan on re-waxing them every time you use wheel cleaner, or probably every 2-3 weeks. One thing is for sure, they won't get as dirty if you seal them up.

would a coat cleaner wax help the NXT coats bond to the surface better.
              I think a 50/50 test is necessary.

Congrats on the new car! Good thing it's a BMW, though. Here in CA it's mandatory to display your front plates as well (and also, no aftermarket front window tint), except that BMWs, Audis, Mercedes, Lexus', showcar stangs old & new, Inifitis, Ferraris, and Lamborghinis don't apply to those laws, and I'm not lying about that. Your vehicle must have the appearance of affluence and the police won't bother you about lack of front plates or tinted front windows. You should be fine then if Texas is anything like CA in that regard . Enjoy babying it!

I wish Texas was like that. If it was I'm sure she would get hassled constantly by the police. Cops around here usually don't know the law.

Nice ride! I vote #20 for the painted wheels though.
