Well here's the problem, i have sweet f all tread left on the coupe's tyres and looking for some good tyres. I am willing to spen about 100-120 per corner.

    I done a search on mytyres.co.uk

It came back with the usual Goodyear f1's, Continental sportcontact, Michilen pilot sport and michilen pilot exalto.

Now i only have ever used kuhmo's exsta's and toyo proxies. Kuhmo's in my opinion were utter pants. And i would never touch them again. The toyo's were brill, but dont seem to be an option from the website. O and the also need to be high speed rating. Not that ill be going fast but i just want it.

The profile of the tyres i need are 215/40/17

Has anyone had any run ins with the makes and also feel free to add to the list.

I want something pretty grippy too Thank u !!!

I've had the F-1's and to be honest they just wore out too quick. I think there were less than 10,000 miles on the car and they were just wore out. I like Bridgestone they make a great tire at a reasonable price and they perform just as well as the f-1's
Anything worth doing is worth overdoing.

How hard were you driving your f1's? My last pair had over 30,000 when I replaced them and they had been through several drag launches. I might recommend checking out the goodyear eagle hp's. That is what I am most likely going to change to. Also some of by Bmw friends really like fussion tires. Don't know much about them though.

Ive actually had really good experiences with Kumho tires. My last ones were the Ecsta 712's and wore really good, were very sticky on dry roads and did decent on wet roads. They were noisey and a litle squirly though. But some of that comes from running 275/35's thats a wide tire with not alot of sidewall to allow for flex. I just got a set of ASX's that I am yet to get installed. Ive heard the Toyo Proxis were a good tire to though. I wouldnt heistate to run those.

The Proxes are alright. I have 295/35/18 in the back and only have maybe 5,000 miles on the and they are getting close to the wear bars...

Falken Azenis. Either the old ones (RT-515) or the new ones (RT-615). They come in a limited number of sizes, but I'm sure with 17's, you'll have no problems. I wouldn't say that I drive recklessly... but I do drive aggressively. And these are some of the few tires you can drive on the street, take it to an autoX, bump up the psi to about 44-48psi, and then have some of the best driving and grip.

The only problem is, that by being so grippy, they don't last very long. With autoXing once a month, and driving like I do everyday, I only got about 12,000 miles out of them... which, apparently, is normal... however, I've met a number of people that have gotten 25,000 out of them.

The Falkens are great but i love my Proxes, best tires ive ever had. The Michelins are good too, my brother had them on his 2000 Civic Si and was in love with them.

I've had a great experience with Continentals Conti-Extreme tire in the exact size you are needing. I have them on my 03 Sunfire, and they so far have 33,000 miles on them and probably have about 10,000 to go before I get replacements. The reason I bought them was wear rating, tread pattern, style, and of course cost. At the time of purchase they were less than $100.00 each. Good luck in your search.

I would also check out BF goodrich. I was a big goodyear fan until I drove a Vette with BF Gforce kd's. They are great, have a pair of the KD's on my Vette now, awsome. The tire you want depends on how and what you drive. Also check out the Fuzion Zri. Friend has them on his m3, not bad and cheap. I would have gone for them, but I need a Y rating.
