Got Some New Things Today!

    Got Some New Things Today!

    Ended up using the Pep Boys Discount today and got myself a Brinkman Dual Xenon Light

    I also found some target gift certificates. They didn't have a huge detailing section, but I managed to get 3 bottles of UQW, a tube of ScratchX 2.0, and a couple foam tire dressing applicators.

    Probably going to stop by Pep Boys again sometime this week to take advantage of that discount.


    I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.
    I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
    Remove swirls my friends.

    You will love the Brinkman, It is a cruel swirl finder. Enjoy the uqw.

      Two questions, how much did the Brinkman set you back and do you like the tire dressing applicators ??

        The Brinkmann set me back about $30.
        I had some of the same applicators and I really liked them, but sometimes the sponge would fall out.

                The Brinkmann is a dual Xenon that exposes fine swirling that ordinary halogen flashlights tend to miss. The combination of the intensity of the Xenon light source and the close-set dual lamps do a better job of refracting light back up through the clear coat than other light sources.

                You'll hear a lot of MOLers referring to it as the "CruelMaster" for this reason. Nothing is more heartbreaking than to think you are done polishing your car because all of the swirls are gone under shop lights, only to discover that very fine swirls still exist once you hold the Brinkmann 18" from the surface.

                  I haven't used the dressing applicators yet, but I like how there is a plastic part that will keep your hand from getting messy.

                    Ain't that the truth!

                    I am just grateful that ordinary folk don't carry Brinkman spotlights around with them. They look at my car and admire the shine. If only they knew (and fortunately they do not) the true condition of my Luthien's finish.

                      sorry to thread jack, but I just took advantage of the Pep Boys discount and purchased a Brinkman. I like the fact that it comes with a car charger also.

                          Great line up you got there, you will love the UQW its a great product, and pretty durable for a spray wax! Now that I know that the Brinkman is at pepboys I can finally go find one! been looking everywhere! Oh, and if im not mistaken that looks just like the applicator in the new hot shine tire kit?

                            I used the UQW last week and it worked great. I really like the product. I went back to pep boys later and bought some Ultimate Compound, Swirl X, GC endurance high gloss tire gel, and some NXT Car wash (always used GC but trying out NXT for a change).


                            I have some pretty rough sidewalls on my tires but the foam help up pretty well against my tires on that applicator. I know eventually the foam will get shredded, just like all of my tire applicators.
