There is no such thing as too many microfibers.

I like to keep towels separated by function and color coding is the easiest way to do it. Right now I’m using red for secondary paint areas, blue for interiors and yellow, white and gold for primary paint (plus some greens dedicated to specific vehicles).

The Meguiar's Ultimate Wipes are the best. I have a dozen different kinds of MF Towels and for paint I rate the UW the best and then the SS. All the other ones leave lint or aren't as soft.

For windows you can't beat the Buff & Shine Heavy Duty Microfiber Glass Towel from ADS.

Agreed. I have yellow ones from sams club and orange ones from target. Both leave lint all over and are not very good. Sams sells blue MF's that leave no lint at all and work very well. I guess it depends on what color you buy.

        Re: Microfiber investment

I started out with about a half dozen supreme shines. Then next opportunity I added about 2 dozen more. I have 1 ultimate that I've never used, but have 3 more on order for use only on final wipe products; my SS are for washing, drying, polishing, etc.
I just picked up 2 more dozen SS at the last car show, and now I'm just looking for a decent cheap towel for door jambs, wheel wells, etc.

To start: 2 dozen SS, 6 UW and 2 dozen cheap towels for non-painted surfaces.

BTW, you used the correct term: investment - buy quality and a quantity you can reasonable afford and they will last you with great results. You're obviously agreeable to purchasing the finest quality car care products in Meguiar's so your towels are not the place to cut corners.

          Re: Microfiber investment

Sometime soon, I will be ordering my G110 and doing the the full detail on my car. Getting the swirl free paint look. Right now when I dry my car after I wash it. I use a water blade. I have heard bad things about it. Will that leave swirl marks? After I use that, I take 3-4 MF's and wipe it down. I have never used the water magnet that meg's have.. Is that better then using the MF's and water blade? The MF's work.. but you always haft to go over it a few times to get all the water dry on the paint. Any suggestions

What is the benefit of the Meg's Chamois SS MF towel? Can it be used for anything else other than drying?

It's a dedicated drying towel. the benefit of it is that it is incredibly thin and thus very easy to wring out with your hands.

I love the absorbency of the waffle weave, but dread wringing it out due to the thickness.

So, my current game plan is to use the SS for the first pass to get the majority of the water, and gently make 1 pass with a waffle weave to get the last little bit.

It's the easiest and most effective combination I have tried.

Kind of off-topic but kind of related and for any Newbies reading this that have not invested in a collection of microfiber polishing cloths yet...

How many microfiber polishing cloths do I need to detail my car?

I have over 30 Supreme Shine (I get a couple rolls of three here and there last couple of years) I use only for paint.

I have Costco MF towels I use for interiors, secondary paint areas (Thanks PC!).

I Have Costco terry cloths for general stuff, windows and I used them for polish removal on a single stage truck that is not done yet.

I just got some Soft Buff terry cloths - 6, I need to get more of those for sure, great towels! I will use them for window duties only.

I maintain about 120-150 Pakshak. I flow them on and out as they age or get damaged.

                              Excellent towels.
