  • Door Ding

Today I was working at my 2nd job (hobby) detailing, and walk outside to find this:

While polishing out a mini van, I ran out polish, "the man" ordered some more. The delivery man arrived and left. After which I found the dent and white paint transfer. Delivery man drives a white truck.

ya, I almost went to their shop to check their trucks. I was going to call them too, but after a second thought I didn't want to spend a night in jail! I can have the dent pulled pretty cheap and I got my order of M105/M205 today too so I will have to test it out.

Besides I really doubt they would do anything about it and most likely deny it was them. What really makes me mad is I delibrately parked in a position no one else should have parked and parked in a way no one would park next to me. This guy had NO reason to park anywhere near my car. There are SO many other places to park and those places are even closer to the door and more convenient for the parts man to park.

Well I would at least call them out on it.
You can be nice about it, just find out if it was him
          Then call him Richard!

Man, that stinks. I would definitely tell them about it. Should not be that difficult to match up. Maybe they would pay for your Dentless guy to pop it out.

              Re: Door Ding

I've had two trucks while working at my current location. 90% of the time I have a black Chrysler 300 park beside me and I always back in.

My old truck had a door ding on the right rear cab door right on the body line. I got my new truck, and within 1 week it had the same ding in the same spot, give or take a half inch.

Do I think it's the same guy? Of course I do. Do I think he should have the cajones to stand up for it? Of course I do. Will this ever happen? Probably not, and that's one of the greatest issues I have with society today.

I agree with the guys above, it shouldn't hurt anything to approach them. Even if the guy only admitted to it and apologized it would probably make you feel better.

Ya know, that really does irritate me when i see someone who takes great care of their property and someone else thinks it okay to just damage it. If i were you i would speak my mind to that guy.

                Sorry that happened to you.

                  Re: Door Ding

I once fractured my little finger saving the door on my new Mazda RX7 (wayyyy back in 1988) from a sure deep ding. I had just parked and was starting to walk away when a woman pulled up in a sedan and parked way too close to my driver side door. I noticed small kids in the back literally bouncing off the rear seat. I RUSHED back to my RX and stuck out my hand just as one of her kids flung open the rear passenger door.

The edge of the door caught my ring finger and it HURT. The woman gave me a dirty look and sarcastically told her kids "Watch out for that man's car, it must be his most important possession!" I answered her, "It's not you kids' fault you don't know how to park!" I didn't know my finger was broken until I had it xrayed a couple of days later when the swelling wouldn't subside.

Well, there were little kids present, and she was a woman after all. Old style upbringing - I held my tongue.
