Got A New Camera!!

As you can tell from the title I got a camera today!! It was on sale this week and it was similar but better than the camera that my mom has. It is 12 mega pixels!! I just wanted a point and shoot camera, and did not want something too expensive. So far I really like it. The quality is definitely better. My moms camera was 7.2 megapixel.

Yeah. This one was silver, although I wanted it in black, but what ever it is is better than PINK!!

Nothing wrong with pink, it'll show you support breast cancer (kudo points from the girls) and no one at the station will steal it from ya! Errr unless you have alot of female vollies.

One note about mega pixel size, the larger the photos you take, the faster your hard drive will fill up.

I said that initally too, Carfire. I have a 16 GB card in my camera, so I can take photos for days without reloading, but you sure feel it when you finally download to your pc.
Between digital photos and itunes I had to pick up a 500 GB external hard drive to prevent storage overload...

Having a good camera is a little bit like detailing with Meguiar's; once you get started you have so much fun you can get carried away!

Good choice,got the 8.1 mp.dsc-w100
with 1gb card it can hold 5846 pics in the vga mode,on other modes less,as in 8m 243 pics.

Interesting read, and to some point I'm sure it's true (although his testing method used a 13 MP picture as its base and de-pixelized it in photoshop - I agree with the critics that I'd rather see three different cameras used) and I can speak from experience that I've seen low MP Nikon cameras produce 'better' image quality than higher MP non-Nikon cameras.

I can also say, however, from experience that I've attempted to have larger prints made from low-res images and the result wasn't worth a darn.

I guess the moral of the story is once you reach a certain level, going larger doesn't matter much (this is not true when speaking of cubic inches or pounds of boost or even how many Meguiar's products you own - the more the better here)

I agree with you 100%


Also, it doesn't matter how good or expensive your camera is if you don't know what makes a good photo in the first place. My mother takes great shots on a cheap point and shoot camera because she has a knack for great composition. Me, I take mediocre shots on an expensive camera because I like my toys
