  • Big mishap

My 18 x 30 canopy just went over. Put some dents in my Nitro's hood. I can't believe it. Went thru windy march and one little gust took it over, ripped out all the tie downs and bent the framework.

You have to get sand bags if it's windy, mine happend in like 10 mpg winds.

I had some excellent results with the paintless dent repair. They got all of the dents out and made it look brand new.

It only takes one time to learn this lesson. Use sandbags, cement, etc.
Fortunately for me, when my lesson came there wasn't a car underneath so the only result was a bent, ruined canopy.

I've gone through 3 of those canopy's, all of which had weights on the bottom of it. Just takes the right wind to pick those things up.

            Sorry to hear about that.

10 mpg? man those winds are getting some bad mileage

Sorry to hear about the dents! I'm getting ready to purchase a canopy and that makes me cringe. I've seen a good paintless dent repair guy at work on a car lot and I was amazed at the results. Hope that works for you, drculinarian

I don't have tons of wind where I live but I'm glad I read this, now I'll definitely put weights on my canopy.

I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.

                    I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
                    Remove swirls my friends.

                      Re: Big mishap

Well I found out I can order the parts to fix the canopy. I have only about 6 broken or bent pieces. When I put it back up I am going to pour concrete footers and bolt it down. Tie downs just didn't work even with the heavy frame (300#).
My car is leased so insurance covers the damage which isn't too bad. The car under the canopy never got touched.
