Flaming MAD!!

I got a call last night from my squad leader, my annual training....vacation....trip to California in August has been cancelled and I'm being bumped back to going either at the end of June or middle of July.
So why am I mad? Well I planned on going to the Saturday class Aug 22nd and now the new dates there are no Saturday classes

To top it off, if I get stuck going in July I have a very high chance of missing the birth of my daughter!
A flight back to southeast Penn takes a long time if Uncle Sam booked it for you!



Ok I feel a little bit better now after venting.

It's a real bummer, I had picked the August date so I had time to save some fluff...I was going to drive out to California and visit some friends on the way out there. This was before I found out that the wifey was pregnant. After the news I was going to fly and just rent a car and drive down to Meg's for the class and then hit up some friends in the Bakersfield area on my way back (I'm getting sent to a town called Dublin, outside of Oakland).
I highly doubt I'll be able to get to a Thursday garage night since it's a 6 hour drive according to mapquest..... (to all the Cali residents) How long of a drive is it from Oakland to Irvine?
Carfire, I'm in the military, don't really have a say in weather I'm going or not. My Squad Leader is trying to get me in at the end of June so that I don't miss out on the birth (due date is Aug 5th). I'll be happy with that even if I don't get to a Saturday class.
I'm looking at it on a bright side.....at least I'm not going back overseas again.....not that I mind.......the timing would really ****!

Well I had drill this weekend and I'm set in to be over in California June 25th to July 10th or some around that time. No Saturday class for me but at least I will be around for the birth.
Hopefully I'll still be able to get to Bakersfield to visit my friends from overseas.
