  • Broken WindShield Wipers

I left my wipers on when I turned off the car. The next morning it was freezing outside and the wipers were frozen to the windshield/ice. I turned on the car and then they broke. Now they don't work. I can hear the motor that powers them working, but they aren't moving at all. Any way I can fix this? I can't really drive w/o them

    thanks,

sounds like something is stripped and now it is not moving them. even though the motors work something is stripped. a gear of some type?, the part that broke was probably plastic and thats why it broke. sorry that I can't help out more.

If you hear the wiper motor running but the wipers aren't moving, it's the linkage between the two. Pop open the hood, turn your wipers on, and observe. You'll find the break in the linkage.
