Re: Just got home from the hospital...
Nick -
What exactly did they do? Fusion? How long were you in the hospital? Sorry to hear you are in so much pain.
I know it's not fun. I just had my 4th back surgery two weeks ago (Jan. 6th). This week I've really started to go stir crazy being cooped up inside all day. There are only so many posts on the detailing forums to read each day. All I can suggest is getting some good books. Not sure how it is for you, but I really couldn't be on the laptop much the first week because sitting hurt my back and I knew I wasn't supposed to be sitting for very long. I'm supposed to be walking a lot as well but it's so dang cold outside that I have to walk laps in my house!
I hope you get better soon and your pain decrease quickly. It's not a fun process, but the end result should have you feeling TONS better than before you went under the knife.
EDIT - Little bit of advice: Take advantage of this time to rest and heal, even if you are not hurting. After my first surgery, I got too active too quickly after surgery because I didn't have any pain. I ended up re-herniating the disc the doc had just fixed, which resulted in a 2nd surgery (post-operation was the worst pain of my life because they had to open me back up and fix everything all over again). So, follow the rules (ie - no lifting more than 10 lbs.) and stay down and rest as much as possible, unless you're walking.
If you're married and you have a good wife, you should be very well taken care of!
