Ya, I am not too fond of its looks. I've been following this for a while. It looks cool with the original concept to the original. Toyota had been on another forum I am on releasing small little teaser images from late November until the official release. A couple members of the site actually got to fly out and be there for the unveiling.
IMO I dont like that they made a center console for the front. I like the openness in the 2004-2009 model like mine. The solar sunroof seems nice for hot days to help keep the temp neutral.
See, years ago the Honda Insight IMO was not very popular.
I think in the past years it has become more popular for obvious reason.
Although I personally like the new Insight as oppose to the old one.
I think it looks more like the Prius and is certainly more spacious than the old one.
For those who do not know what the old one looks like here it is:

It sure would be a pain to clean or dress the rear tires

I've actually had the privelage of washing an old Insight. Its an all aluminum body, those rear skirts come off too.
The 2010 Insight doesnt scare me. It has 88 combined HP and is much smaller than even the current Prius and is only good for around 40mpg.
Personally, I would look at the new Ford Fusion Hybrid. If Ford can deliver on its promises of 41/38...should be a legit competitor if you dont need the versatility of a hatchback.
Personally, I the Prius is currently my definition of the worst car you can purchase.
(sorry if i offend those that like it. My opinion is no better than yours, and the Prius is one of the most loved cars)
The new Insight is supposed to be cheaper than the prius, and IMHO, It is a better car!
have fun selling them when they run out of warrenty in 10 years..... reminding the tree huggers about the battery disposal when it comes time to replace the battery or junk the car.... i hate hybrids....its not the answer.... think diesel....better numbers, simpler car
diesels and hydrogen FTW! There are European models that get 60-70 mpg, and I get ticked every time I see a auto commercial advertising 30mpg like is a godly number.
