Very low record lows broken: TWC meteorologist Mark Ressler gathered up these very cold record lows that were broken earlier this morning as temps plummeted in the teens to 40 degrees below zero. For you folks residing in southern California and the Southwest in general, aren't you jealous?
          Updates in red below...

Start driving, keep the "S" showing, fill the tank about 5 or 6 times and you should have the problem behind you.

My thought was to tie a snow shovel on the hood of my vehicle and start driving South. When someone asks me what that thing is for, that will be far enough.

This was taken in my truck with its thermometer. I do have gloves but the truck was nice and warm inside with the seat heaters on HI!!!

I will say the old Avalanche wasn't to happy with the weather either. Never herd so many strange noises coming from just about every where!!

One of my client's family members visited from SoCal, and wanted to know what a snowblower was, and couldn't wait to see one.

Then asked about the photo from up north of my location where they had snow banks 10 feet high.

Lets see if I can find the pic......

I agree, it's crazy cold out! It burned my hand this morning when I grabbed metal outside with my bare hand. Factor in the wind and we are at -30F today and -40F tomorrow. At that temperature it takes less than 5 minutes on bare skin to get frost bite. That's too funny Rasky, I was looking in my closet for a warmer coat to wear tomorrow. I was debating the 'puffy Michelin Man coat' too. Every time I wear it my friends at work tease me. I think it will be worth it tomorrow.

I really feel for people who have to work outside in this type of weather all day, or for the people who dont have the luxury of going into a warm building. It can be deadly...

Very true... you do indeed have to be careful.

Heck you have to be careful opening an exterior door, grab a ice cold door knob with a sweaty/damp hand and it will scare you, your hand wants to stick instantly!!

...and I wouldn't put your tongue on a flag pole.

We are at -4 degrees right now, and headed down to -8 here in Dayton. It wouldn't be so bad, but the back of the truck is white from all of the road salt and the rear window washer decided to quit on me. I tried to clean off the window with Windex, but the darn stuff would freeze before I could wipe it off -- and that was inside the garage!
