My wife and her family are going on a road trip this June and i am starting to look into rooftop cargo bags. I figured this would be a good place to see if anyone had any suggestions on some. I have been looking at some but just want to get some different opinions on some. We have a 2003 Honda Pilot, we do not have any cross rails. Thanks for your help.

Re: Rooftop Cargo Bags
We have a 2004 Honda Pilot with the roof rails but we've never used a Rooftop Cargo Carrier.
Often times finding and joining a niche discussion forum for your car type can provide you a wealth of information by the regulars on these forums which tend to become experts on your specific car model.
Here's and example,
Probably has most of your questions, answers and pictures of different Rooftop Cargo Carriers.
Inevitably you'll likely instill a few scuffs and scratches bolting the thing onto the roof, when you're ready to remove these defects and polish the Pilot after your road trip then we're your niche discussion forum for that topic.

Re: Rooftop Cargo Bags
We bought one from Sears a while back and it's been pretty good to us. My dad tried to get it into a parking garage and tore it all up but a little bondo fixed that.
If your not going to use it that much, just get a cheap one from Sears or something.

Re: Rooftop Cargo Bags
Ive tried sticking stuff up on my roof and its a real hassle. More so if you have a bad back and youre trying to put heavy suit cases up there. Not sure how high a honda is though. Also, no way I could fit in a parking garage with one of those.
Ended up getting a carrier that goes into the hitch, its pretty darn handy. More so for things I do not want in my Jeep like gas cans, pressure washer, lawn mower, etc.
Only thing with those is, most of the time people try to load them down with heavy stuff which sags the heck out of their suspension. My jeep has HD suspension and air bags so sagging is not an issue.
Guess a hitch is needed for that though.Current Jeep: 2004 Jeep Liberty with stuff
