  • S-Dressing / Engine Kote.....

    Gang,

As I have mentioned before, when I go out of town, I take a gander at the Meguiars database and seek out PBE stores that may have Meguiar's products. In this case, on a trip to Lake Tahoe for the boy's birthday/Christmas present (snow board trip to Northstar Mt.) I came across a PBE store and wandered around and picked up the following.

    D-4301 - Engine Kote
    D-4101 - S-Dressing
    X1160 - GC Wheel Brush
X3010 - GC Wash Mitt (never owned one, very nice)
X1200 - GC Wash Mop Bonnet (wifey got me a wash mop for the Yukon)

Although the products are not rare by anymeans, I put them here in Break room rather than Blast from the Past. The GC brushes/Wash mitts are getting harder and harder to find.

I got the wash mitt/Bonnet/wheel brush for less than 7 bucks each and the Engine Kote/S-Dressing for 19.99 with a discount for all.

    Some pix.

    S-Dressing:

    Wash Mop Bonnet:

    Wash Mitt:

    Wheel Brush:

    Merry CHRISTmas to you all.

    Check your PBE stores.....

They had Medallion paint cleaner wax but the labels again as I found last store I went to, were very faded and the wax was very watery and appeared to have separated and no amount of shaking the bottle was going to fix it, otherwise I would have negotiated a price on them.

Excellent find. Thanks for the tip on finding such products. Merry Christmas to you, and your loved ones.

Engine-Kote was a pretty cool product and a lot of online enthusiasts really like it, the problem was that it just didn't catch on in the retail production detail industry.

What was cool about it is that it dries hard, as in no tacky or sticky residue on the components in your engine compartment so no dust attraction problem associated with the usual dressings.

Take care of that gallon, keep it inside where it's warm.

I think I have one gallon myself, not sure may have "shared" it with some deserving soul in the last few years.

I gotta get me some of this, unfortunately I never had the chance to try it out. Well looks like I'm going to have to go hunting, err... shopping.

I like that idea, I will probably only use it for my self and a gallon should last a car contract or two

Too bad some stuff don't take off. I could see car dealerships using this, K.I.S.S. would apply on both of these products, although the S-Dressing may have not passed the tight VOC compliants.....

I keep all my stuff in the house where it's tucked in time to time

It's fun to share! Got to spread the love!

Erik, I go to the Meguiar's site and put in the cities I may pass through for the pro stuff and see what comes up and if it's easy to get to!
