  • iPod Speaker Dock Advice

    Hey guys...

I was looking at getting a speaker dock for use while I'm out in the garage or where ever. I've heard good things about the JBL docks but was wondering what you guys have and like.

I found this one at my local Best Buy...JBL On Stage III Speaker Dock

    What do you guys use?

    Thanks,
    Ryan

    Hey Ryan,
I have a Bose SoundDock, as with anything Bose, they aren't cheap, but it sounds very good. It has great range and the base is extremly good. I am always surprised something of that size sounds that good. It's really the only Ipod docking station I've heard though. Sams club carries them: http://www.samsclub.com/shopping/nav...=5&item=410392

Hey everyone, I have a question for you.

Where is the best online deal for a ipod nano? Thanks.

        Check out pricegrabber.

Based on that list I would do Amazon or BH Photo for $135 and free shipping. I've ordered tons of stuff from both without any problems.

I just got my mom a Microsoft Zune from BH Photo. Free 2 day shipping, it came today. Plus it was $11 more for the 2 year replacement warranty. It even cover accidental damage. Typically I don't do the extra warranties but did this time. I notice for the ipod it's $23. The Zune was under $100 so I think the prices are based on the cost of the item.

Edit: That's the 8 gb model, the 16 gb is a bit more.

The Bose dock isn't a bad choice, it is however very expensive. If I was going for a higher end dock I would get the Pure-Fi Elite. It has good lows and highs. However the Bose does have a cleaner look.

That JBL is a nice unit, bought one for my daughter, I think it's a charger as well but can't remember.

              Bose are nice but expensive.

Jam, I would try Circuit City for an Ipod as I heard from the wifey that they are selling them with $40.00 worth of music from itunes......139 or 149 for the ipod nano with video with 8gb. We are getting one for the 13yr old for CHRISTmas

Anyone getting a rechargeable anything, condition that battery (let it die completely before charging) and read instructions when you get it for initial charge.

              Have fun.

cambridge soundworks puts out a nice products. I guess it would be in the level of somewhere between the JBL and the bose

I had this problem and found there are no good docks until you get into the several hundred dollar range. I found anything cheaper had no volume.

I have the Bose, like everyone say it's expensive but it's top quality.
The sound it delivers is amazing, you can really distinguish the difference between other docking stations.

I use it all the time in my house at the beach, one year or so and it keeps going strong, also keep in mind I use it in open spaces so maybe that's why the difference is so big between Bose and other brands.

                        Ryan,
I would suggest going somewhere that has several display models and trying them out before you drop the cash. The only thing worse than getting one that sounds good but was expensive is getting one cheap that you are not happy with.

x2 for the Logitech Pure Fi elite. It is much cheaper than the bose and I think that it sounds much better.
