Well, my three months of free XM in my new car are over and I need to subscribe for XM service. I wanted to see what everyone else is paying for their XM service. I talked to a rep last night and he said it starts at $12.95mo. So, I keep talking with him and he came down to $4.95mo but only for 3 months. He said he can just put in 4 of the same packages and so it'll technically be a year at $4.95 per month. Not bad. Except, right when we were about to talk about the details and get me signed up my cell phone lost signal. I was like NOOOOOOO!!! T-Mobile is horrible!!!

Re: What is everyone paying for.....?
I inherited XM radio when I purchased my Lexus from a co-worker about a year ago. When the time to renew came around I believe it was about $140 for another year. So yes, the $12 per month you mentioned seems pretty standard. As you have no doubt discovered, it is a pretty cool service. If you spend any amount of time in your car it's worth while.
P.S.= I have relatives in both Suwanee and Norcross. I have been out a couple times to visit them and one day we drove right through Buford. If I had to move out of California I wouldn't mind heading out that direction.Last edited by Brian Hann; Nov 4, 2008, 08:45 AM.Brian Hann

Re: What is everyone paying for.....?
XM will give you deals if you tell them you want to cancel. I got it for a few months when I had my SS and traveled out of state. It was nice having good tunes the whole way. When I called to cancel they offered me all sorts of deals.Scott

Well it was....... until one day, over a year later when all of a sudden he got a bill in the mail. Yup you guessed it, it was the furniture store bill with a whole lot of interest on it too. Ouch! In most cases they always find out and bill you for it.

Re: What is everyone paying for.....?
FYI, The intergration with XM and Sirius receivers will not take effect until at least the 2012 vehicle model year (per Mel Karmizan CEO of XM/Sirius) So both stand alone XM and Sirius services will be in effect for quite some time. (with best of packaging for either service at an extra charge). I agree with others here that Satellite radio is an excellent service (especially when until recently I commuted 65 miles on way for my job).

Re: What is everyone paying for.....?
We have 3 Sirius units (one we gave to a uncle) and pay about $15 for all three of them combined. I really don't use it that often because I just plug my MP3 player into the car instead. My dad and mom really use it a lot and its good for long trips (which we do a lot) with the whole family, generally we can find a happy medium with all the available channels.

PS. Yes it is all about how you word it and talk them into it, we told them we were going to switch to XM so we would have MLB and they came down in price real fast.Attack life, it's going to kill you anyway.
