Mods... Linking to Ebay in threads - OK or Not OK?

After looking over the forum rules I am not to sure and I have been away awhile so the question is can I link to my eBay posts for more exposure on selling items (Meguiars stuff here and there) or is it something we try not to do? No problem either way just don't want to start something I shouldn't.

Here are my thoughts on linking eBay items:

For me, it stinks if you were intending to buy the item and someone posts the link. Now, everyone knows about the item and you've wasted your time searching for it.

If you are the seller, I would not post a link; it's kind of like spamming. But, there's nothing wrong with having an item listed here and the same item listed on eBay. Just don't post the links.

If you're selling your products from your personal collection that would be okay, if you're selling as a business then no, that wouldn't be okay because this forum doesn't exist as a marketing channel for retail businesses.

Make sense?

So far we've never had a problem with selling of any kind that is within our forum rules. If things were to change and selling or anything became an issue or a problem then we would exercise the flexibility to address these issues or problems in the future.

Yeah, I had to take a break from the forum. These past few weeks have been super busy and packed with tests. And, I've been working on a project (you'll see it soon).

No - I have been listing some Meguiars products there, not as a 'business' I guess just the stuff I bought at Walmart, I am down to only two kits but for the future I was curious.

Other than that I sell things here and there, you know just what ever buy from time to time as well. I never buy unless I am going to get the deal I want, I will wait it out till I get it for the price I want to pay even if it means passing up auction after auction of the same product. You can get some insane deals if you can wait it out.

Thanks for the responses, all makes sense Mike. Just don't want to cause any problems for anyone I am sure everyone has their hands full already!
