    Re: wreck... very sad day

I've seen some pretty bad accidents, thats got to be one of the worst. The fact that they are alive is a blessing, the car can always be replaced.

I am glad everyone is not injured and will get well soon. Cars can be replced and life can't.

Glad to know that everyone will be OK. You should send a photo of the damage to Lexus with a short note. I'm sure they'd be happy to see how well their workmanship held up during an accident. Sadly, many other cars would not have held up nearly as well.

Also, this is a perfect reason to never visit Knoxville, TN. The city is God's urinal.

First off sorry to hear about the accident but I am glad to hear that they will be fine. I have a raised Dodge Ram and the reason I like it is because you can see over the top of the cars in front of you. This always gives me enough time to brake so it does seem the driver of the F350 was pre-occupied elsewhere.

So about that reflection. I'll be honest to say that I did see a reflection and said to myself man it had a nice reflection. I then read when you wrote you had just spent time detailing it so that explained it. Hope they make a quick recovery.

Sorry to hear about the accident, good to hear no one was seriously harmed, sometimes an accident like this can remind everyone that you never know when you're going to be in accident and it's a good idea to make sure all your accounts are in order while you can.

Sorry to hear that dude. ***** when you put so much passion into something then some teen comes along and takes it all away. Guy probably had it all given to him and didnt care enough to watch where he was going. Maybe if he understood things better he would of been paying attention.

Glad the GF and her friend were ok.

Haha, gotta say I was checking our that rim.. Its looking pretty dang good.

I know, I despise that city and their team. I have been a huge Notre Dame fan since I was real young, and haven't missed a game since I was 13 years old. My girlfriend likes Alabama, so that's why she was going. But yeah... never again.

I agree, there's no way he should have not seen any of that. I used to own a 05 Dodge Ram 3500 dually, and I could see 3-4 cars ahead braking easilt. He was definitely preoccupied. And was 17 years old we found out.

Thanks Mike, it definitely puts life in perspective. Makes you really think what is important and what isn't.

Happy to hear everyone is fine! That's a shame about the car.

By the way, the car does shine nice. Maybe they will let you take a few of the panels to practice on.

Ouch, after seeing that picture, glad to hear your girlfriend is ok. That is a nasty hit.

This is exactly what I was going to say so... all I can say is " right on Mike". It's things like this that remind us we are NOT in control of anything. I hope your gf and her friend feel better soon. In regards to the car make sure they give you top dollar because Lexus has one of the highest resale values from all luxury automobiles. I think you know which car to go with now that you've seen how the IS300 held up.... (IS250, IS350 or possibly a used low mileage IS300). God Bless you, your gf and her friend.

Glad everyone was okay and nothing more than some soreness. I hope the insurance doesn't jerk you around, car or medical.

Thanks guys, and you're right Nappers, I am going to make SURE that insurance doesn't jerk us around. Both my gf and her friend are still in a lot of pain, and you never know if they will have back or neck problems down the road even once they recover. So I'm not just letting this thing go as soon as possible. Thanks again.

Don't let either girl sign a waiver or release to the insurance company. I'd advise seeing an attorney and taking maximum money. That damage is unknown and pain can come years later. I was in a similar accident in 1971, I was in a 1966 Toronado and the car that hit us was an MGB. We were stopped and he was going around 25. There was only $400 (in 1971 dollars) to my car. My then GF, who was in the car, still has back pain to this day.
