What a terrible accident. I am so glad you didn't do any permanent damage. This just hasn't been your month.

I'm going to clean off the safety goggles I alway keep in my roll away and start using them.

Back around 1990, I was cleaning a restaurant's ice machine with acid in the water system when a drop of the acid splashed up and hit my eye. I was wearing contacts at the time which made it worse. I went to the ER where they flushed my eye for a long time. Talk about pain.
Since then, I wear safety glasses when doing anything around chemicals OF ANY KIND and possible flying debris. I'll even don the glasses when washing the car.
Forewarned is forearmed!

Sorry to hear about your accident. Hope you get well soon and have a full recovery. I will now wear glasses more often. I got PB blaster in my eye a while back and it was painful to flush eyes out.

Get well soon dude! Thanks for the reminder. Had similar incident with wheel brightener. Sprayed on a wheel and tiny amount of splatter ricochet back to my eyes. Ran like hell to wash it off.

Well I am doing a lot better this morning, going to try and go to school. Vision is still blurry and painful, I'm trying not to take the pain meds so I really know how much pain it is. Still very hard to open the one eye but it's getting better.

The eye doctor yesterday said things look a little bit better but not as much as she would hope to see, I go back on Tuesday for another follow up.

I'll keep you updated and thanks for all the get well wishes!!

Hey Ryan,

Sorry to hear about your accident with your eyes. Get well soon and thank you for posting this as it is too easy to forget to wear goggles or we become too complacent and say to ourselves, "I will just be careful...". I have been guilty of this, and your post has reminded me that a simply accident can cause a lot of needless suffering.

Tomorrow's the big day...2nd trip to the eye doctor to see what the future of my eye is. Right now I can see light and very very slightly distinguish figures, but thats about it. Its kinda like if you wake up after sleeping all night and go turn the lights on, basically like that in the one eye.

My father and I, on separate occasions, both have gotten metal chips in our eyes (even with goggles). I feel your pain...
