News just said instead of weakening Ike is strengthening...

Fox news states that Ike is 1 mile per hour away from a Category 3 Hurricane!

Yeah, and it's headed straight for us!
We're inland quite a bit, but they're predicting it to be a cat 1 by the time it reaches Dallas. Not sure we've ever actually had a hurricane in Dallas, as we are a couple hundred miles inland.

Southwest has canceled all flights in/out of Dallas Love Field tomorrow between 9am and 7pm central time. If their predictions are right, we're gonna have some nasty wind and flooding

Thanks guys. Had to move it over a bit to fit another car in there. The roof of the van literally has about 1/16 of an inch clearance after I removed the top trim piece over the garage door! Now it's really close

I wish everyone the intelligence to make the right choices.
Unfortunately, my Wife's family decided to hunker down about 23 mi. from the coast and not too far to the west of Galveston in their homes in West Columbia. But, we're hoping...

A convoy for 500 are headed from San Antonio.
Very few have power in Houston.

Most major roads are closed due to debris and water.

Haven't had anything more than light to moderate wind & rain here at my house just west of DFW Airport. We're hoping it stays that way but it's probably going to get a little rougher this evening.

I've tried reaching a friend of mine in the Houston area but haven't had any luck.
