  • Cars & Coffee 08.31.2008

My first time back to C&C since late April

There is always a nice selection of Ferraris here.

These Mercedes SL guys are always present and their cars are all just about flawless:

Mercedes answer to the original BMW M3 - the MB 190E 2.3-16:

With the high cost of gas today, this really isn't stupid.

This Mosler grabbed a lot of attention:

    Meow....

It's not all cars at Cars & Coffee

And then there's the unusual, the rare, the different:

1935 Mercedes Benz 130 Cabrio-Limousine. Powered by a rear mounted 1,308cc inline 4 making a whopping 26HP at 3,400rpm, mated to a 3 speed manual box. It weighs a svelte 2,160lbs and has a top speed of 57mph. I assume that's downhill with a tailwind

Toyota 2000GT - first one of these I've seen in the flesh (or sheetmetal as the case may be)

This is a Deutsch-Bonnet from around 1960. I had never heard of this French marque before and found it to be an interesting little car. You can find some good info on them HERE

We return you now to your regularly scheduled detailing session. Get back to work.

Wow nice cars as always. As soon as I have a free Saturday I will get myself to go down there. Is that the original color on the Ferrari Berlinetta? I've never seen that color before.

If you're referring to the first shot in the post, the 355 F1 Berlinetta, it's sort of hard to tell from the picture but it was just good old Ferrari Red.

Wow, it kind looks like a deep burgundy. Very nice though.

That 2000GT is a very cool car! Always read about them, but never seen one.

          Thanks for the pictures!

I love this car! Kind of looks like a Cartoon Car!

Would hate to get hit in it by a large truck or suv...

On the other side of Alton Ave from the Irvine Spectrum - in the back parking lot of the Ford Premier Auto Group lot in the shadow of the Mazda building.

Basically, heading N on the 5 from Lake Forest exit at Alton, make a left at the end of the ramp and cross back over the freeway, then make the first right and either park in the parking garage or the big lot to the left if you're a spectator, or head on down to the second drive on the right to the display lot if you've got something you want to show off. It starts getting busy around 6:30AM and clears out pretty well by 9:15 or so. Always an eclectic mix.
