    I worked for him at a restoration shop he owned back in th eearly 90's.

    "Racing legend dies: Phil Hill was the first and only American-born driver to win the prestigious Formula One championship, which he captured in 1961."

    Sorry to hear that Joe but what a great fact within your life that you worked for someone with that amount of automobile heritage. After reading up on Mr. Hill...he had a great life...I only hope that when its my time people can say the same!

        Phil Hill has always been one of my personal heros. I think that we all have our heros that we admire. Phil was to me someone who transcended from being a person into a legend through his deeds and actions and back again. Not many people have ever done that.
        He will be sorely missed.

          I thought about you, Joe, when I heard this the other day. I'm a huge fan of vintage sports car and grand prix racing so Phil Hill has always held a special place in my heart.
