That's pretty cool, they are getting stricter around here and a lot of my neighbors are complaining. I try my best to wash quickly and use the pressure washer to use less water but they still complain.

Can some one elaborate on this system of washing? I looked in the links and Hot topics, didn't see anything. Also has anyone washed there car like this?

I had never heard of it before and it kinda surprised me. I would rather use ONR than to do it like that.
Wonder what they had in the bucket? Just regular GC soap?

Meguiar's is in a somewhat unique position in that we cater to the OEM industry, body shops, pro detailers, Car Crazy enthusiasts, and the average car owner who wants nothing more than to remove dirt from their car. The general consuming public usually isn't interested in, nor do they often understand, the lengths an enthusiast will go to when maintaining their vehicle's finish - these are all the people you see waiting for their car to come out the other side of the automatic car wash. That is the audience we were addressing yesterday morning at KTLA's studios.
With water restrictions in place in many SoCal communities and fines reaching as high as several hundred dollars, there is (believe it or not) a huge audience for this type of thing. The extreme majority of these people are simply not going to spend $16 (plus shipping) for a bottle of ONR, nor will they even know to seek out such a product. Car detailing forums for these people? No way. But that doesn't mean we ignore them either.

Considering the market... the process was right on... IMHOP.
If you're using a drive thru... you might/might not even think about washing it yourself. I think showing UQD was a great idea as an in-between (maintenance) step.
If this market washes it themselves are they using one bucket with dish washing detergent?
Given the economy will the mass market buy more product and begin to DIY?

So...what if you are in a water restriced zone and still are a detail freak....or are at a car show far away and need to wash the thing after, say a thunderstorm?
This might/might not be a dumb question.....

Not a dumb question at all. A product like ONR would be perfect in that scenario and it's something an enthusiast would seek out. Unfortunately Meguiar's does not offer a product that is a direct competitor to ONR at this time.
