  • Car Crazy Detailing Edition??

Maybe this has been done before, but what about a Car Crazy episode about detailers? I think it would be an awesome idea for the Car Crazy crew to follow someone like Joe, or Kevin Brown through one of their master projects.

    Yes? No? Stupid idea?

    Re: Car Crazy Detailing Edition??

Thats the dumbest thing I heard, I would hate to watch a show of how the masters show the art of restoring a car to a beautiful luster. Insane

Ha ha! Made you look, (I had to look at my car and make sure I got all of the polish out, made me quite nervous now ) LOL

That is a great idea, I would watch unless it's pay per view or it's pay per view on late night so the little woman doesn't hollar at me. I say at least I'm watching guys buffing a car, not watching guys in the buff

Could even be that Chapman guy. Maybe Tim Lingor. Maybe one of the open garages.

Ehhh, I doubt I'm worthy of something like this. But I just thought the idea would be cool. Watching a pro go through a project from start to finish, edited of course Maybe a full wet sand, cut and polish? I bet it would attract a lot more attention than just from the detailers. A lot of regular car guys eat this stuff up.

Maybe something for a car to go from the painters booth all the way to the car show?

Alright Barry, the people have spoken! When can we expect this episode to be on air? Can I be the first to pre order my dvd copy of the episode?

Oh also, can this be shot in 1080p please?

              Thanks,
              Nick

Don't cut yourself short there Nick! You do some wonderful work. You care and it shows! That being said, the more I thought about the open garage idea, the more I liked it. There have been post about web casting already, but it hasn't come to fruition. Your right in saying that a lot of people would enjoy it. Not just us, but the regular guy who wants to learn more. I have often hoped that maybe one of the spike shows, like Trucks with Stacy David would have an episode on just detailing. Maybe showing the average guy the five step, or just why we clean and polish paint before protecting it.

                    Re: Car Crazy Detailing Edition??

Honestly, I think this would be a TERRIFIC idea!

Furthermore, beyond a single episode concept of a complete "start to finish" project I think it would be awesome to either have a nmini-series, or a short blurp over the course of several normal episodes where Meguiar's visits with MOL detailers across the nation, each giving their unique tips and showing what they know.

This would help to give pointers to all of the people out there that may be afraid to tackle projects or try products beyond the initial simple items like wax, wheel cleaner, and tire dressing.

                    Just a thought...

That would be a great idea. I understand the idea behind Car Crazy, but I wish they would occasionally do an episode on detailing and details. Even if they wanted to do a special Open Garage or something similar. That way, it would include Meguiar's employees and the great details that use the products.

As I recently mentioned to Nick...

A long time ago, I had to prep a car for a Concours.
Because of the timeline, I had to work non-stop, no sleep, for about 80 hours.
It was terrible, fantastic, crazy, and intense.

I have always wanted to do something similar, but this time, utilize the talented guys we have here at MOL.

                            AND FILM IT!!!!

We wouldn't need to 'create drama' to make an interesting show... Are you kidding?!?
Just doing that type of job in a short period of time is dramatic enough!
