I decided to tackle my garage floor this weekend. With the perfect weather we've had and low humidity, it was the perfect time.
In the past I've used a single stage latex epoxy that wouldn't hold up, would end up chipping off and looking worse than if I had nothing on it whatsoever. This time I decided if I was going to go to the trouble of doing this, I was going to do it right so to speak.
After using paint/epoxy stripper on half the garage floor, I was killing myself, I thought there had to be a better way. I rented this diamond floor grinder from my local rental place and used it remove all the old epoxy and scuff the concrete...

After this, process, I power washed out the remaining dust and dirt on the floor. I gave the floor a TSP floor wash with a broom and again power washed it out. Finally I used Muriatic acid to etch the concrete with, neutralized it with baking soda and again power washed it out. I then let it dry for several hours with a blower and then applied Epoxy-coat on the floor, I had enough left over for a second light coat and I went over it again this morning. I can already tell this stuff is far superior to the product I had used before
