  • Moving on up.....

    Gang,

Here is my latest collection of Meguiars stuff. Just received an order from ADS for M8032, ASD/bottle/sprayer, M105 sample and D151 Sample. In Vancouver, I found a great PBE store and purchased, M8032, APC, 2 9006 pads, wool pad cleaner gizmo, Mirror Glaze 12oz bottles, detailer bottle, M8432 and some other stuff that I can't remember.....

This is my tool box for my Rotary and G100, it's a Craftsman 2 drawer and the backing plates fit nicely in the drawer and my tools fit fine in the upper part. This is an older pix but I have the new W67DA for my G100 and gave my old W64DA to a MOL member who needed one ASAP. Not sure where my G100 went in the pix, but it's there now I checked.

This is my buckets of towels (older pix), no change from before, may have added a 3 pack or so here and there over the last year. I use a different way to store my applicators now too so the one in the upper left side I don't use.

This is my top shelf of shelves I built for my stuff, may need more room. Actually I need a garage, but I make optimum use of the space I have. You may recognize the usual suspects, UQD, NXT Detailer, QD, tire dressings, Natural Shine, QID (heck had 5 bottles at one point from different gift packs my wife bought me) etc etc.

Second shelf down, my Mirror Glaze, A-Line and wax collection, the usual (not in order ), m80/83/84/105/D151, DC1-2, ColorX, M26, M21 (V1), Cleaner wax (3 bottles!, the wife always asks if I need cleaner wax in the store. Smart aleck!)NXT/NXT 2.0 and 16. Some ScratchX, Trim Detailer and PlastX too.

3rd shelf down, the storage gizmo's I use for my applicator pads and those MF bone shaped big detail spray remover things in gift packs, work pretty good actually and the dog bone sponge in Meg's gift packs. My black caddy that the wife got me with some stuff, the usual, QID, UQD, brushes, M40, 32oz QD, Heavy duty interior cleaner now discontinued (got one left), wheel cleaner and Quik Wheel detailer that I love to use. Also my car wash in recycled GC soap bottle and my measuring cups for soap ($.95 cents at Walmart 4 and a smidge oz of soap for a approx 4 gal in a 5 gallon bucket works great).

Bottom, my gallons of stuff(not in order either), M40, ASD, APC, Super Degreaser, GC car wash, also my spray bottles and Crate O' Pads, my pads in open ziplock bags.

I found this caddy at a Ross store while shopping with the wife, works great to pack my bottles around, it was a whopping $3.99. The holes to fill are going to be the D-Line Body Solvent and Glass Cleaner, the white bottle is filled with QID as a couple of my bottles cracked and would have lost it if I didn't transfer to my detailer bottle. Heck might as well get another rack for APC+ in different mixes and get another APC and have a different mix of both, get some Hyper Dressing different mixes, Last Touch, hmmm the list is never ending! "HONEY, IT'S MY MONEY AND I WANT TO BUY MEGUIARS NOW". (Spoof on that JG Wentworth money settlement commercial LOL).

It's made in Italy too! Here is the sticker in case you want/need this caddy, it's pretty durable so far.

I am having fun and the wife lets me get stuff when we have the money. I have made a buck or two since getting familiar with the products and have another detail this next week on a Dodge Ram (was this week but they cancelled).

Is that a Chicago brand rotary? How do you like it? I was considering one to learn on myself.

First of all, thanks guys, built up over the last couple of years. Cleaner wax is abundant in my house. NO GARAGE, back room, will take pix of it and post tommorow.

It is a Chicago Electric Rotary. I have had no problems with it, I tend to use it on speed setting II-III with a 8006 pad, tried a 7006 pad and left more holograms than a Mark Mcguire card in Wonder bread loaf. I was able to correct the problem.

I tore my CE rotary apart and clean it and pack the drive with new red grease and checked the brushes and cleaned the brush contact (on the motor brushes). I put it back together and it seemed to run smoother????

I use both the 8" backing plate and 6" backing plate for pads, I learned from Kevin Brown that he does that on flat surfaces.

Anyways, it seems to work good for me although I haven't compounded a whole car after a wet sanding from painting, but have done some correction with it on my Neon.

It was on sale for less than 30 bucks if memory serves and can't beat that. When this one dies, plan on a Makita.

Oh, here's a photo, an older one but this is "MY" area, it's changed and will take a pix tommorow. Shelves for my products, but I just got a work bench from a buddy and finally got it in and organized my stuff.

My tool box, built shelves around it to maximize room.

Aaron, Nice setup you got there. I hate it when my stuff gets put out of place.

Nice set-up. I wish I even had a corner of a backroom. My stuff is in a 4.5" tall crawlspace... and I'm 6'1". It's a pain (literally) but, stuff stays dry. Lucky for that.

                              Re: Moving on up.....

I don't have a lot of room but a crawl space is better than nothing.

Here are some pix of "MY AREA", no wives aloud!!

First pix is going to the back room through the laundry door

To my immediate left is a storage area nightmare which is infringing on my area and thus violating treaty

Straight ahead is a work bench that was given by our good friends, my wife's girlfriend's dad made this and her mom was moving and couldn't take it and her husband couldn't take it and I needed a bench and it worked great. I had to remove one door in the house to get it back there, it was heavy too!

I built this shelf above the work bench and trying to remove the shelves in front of the window, the wife apparently still has custody of fashion and does not like the window blocked by shelves. I tried to find it in the contract but couldn't It's pending court action until then I'm standing my ground

My shelves for my Goods as previously mentioned

You can see my Bucket O' cloths (my MF, Terry and Red rags). Also, this is my tool box, it's stuffed to the max. I did use drawers in the new work bench for other stuff and was able to clean it out a smidge but it's still full. I am going through negotiations to purchase a new one I also built shelves to the left of the tool box to maximize use of the walls, I've used a lot of wall anchors in this room! I also had a make shift side cabinet on my tool box, works great, I keep my shop manuals in there from every car I've owned (almost), I have my Ford Cortina GT manual in there, miss that car too!

Just another view of my little work bench I was using with the grinder on it. I got the grinder with the big work bench and just bolted it to this little one I was using. Not sure how old it is but it works great. I also built shelves above the tool box and put my power tools above it. Hey my shiny piggy bank is up there still!

This is my floor space, I was standing at the edge of the outer door, not much, but I can fit a kid's bike in there and replace tubes and whatnot. Gonna work on the weed eater here shortly, probably a fouled plug or hmmm, a teenage boy that doesn't want to use it???? , I never did that, I heard my echo when he said "it dies all the time and wont run" I laughed.

Thats about it. I wish I had Nick Chapmans room and a lot of you others. I told the wife, if we ever build, I said you build the house, Daddy is building the garage! I"ll have lifts, central heating and air, big lift doors etc etc etc. LOL.

                              Thanks for looking L8R
