  • 5.6 Earthquake here in SoCAl

Was sitting at my desk typing and processing photos for the Batmobile thread when the house 'shuddered'

Then the news came on and says we just had a 5.6 earthquake in the Chino Hills area south of Los Angeles.

Sorry man... I tripped over my PC cord.

    I'm ok!

You house "shuddered" huh? You should have been here at the offices in Irvine - we were rockin' and rollin' pretty darn good! Duration was pretty long too - a real eye opener.

Whoa that was a pretty good jolt. I'm in Irvine and our building swayed a couple times. I wonder if there will be any strong aftershocks.

HAHAHA!!! That was fun. lol, they evacuated our factory because of it. I thought it was the usual train passing by but it lasted too long for that.

I was in Diamond Bar (next city up from Chino Hills) finishing up a detail on a silver grand prix, I never skipped a beat.

I was taking off wax and thought I was pushing too hard on the car because it was shaking back and forth. Then I noticed all the cars were doing it.

It did feel weird, kind of like standing on an air mattress that was swaying back and forth.

Just heard on local radio that they've updated things and are now saying the epicenter was in Diamond Bar. Once again Joe, you're right there in the middle of things!!

We had a 5.2 back in February and a 5.8 a few years ago. Apparently we've had others, but these were the bigger ones for the middle of the British mainland. I slept straight through the last one ... it sounded like the earth moving trucks from down the road rolling past the house, which causes a similar shaking

Glad everyone is okay ... everyone is, right?
