      I guess some people would say that is not water conservation, but the way I see it, the water in the pond can work its way back down to the water table, and it's not like it is treated water being dumped into a sewer somewhere.

        I would think the same thing. One home I know of that had an open loop dumped it into a near by river. That didn't seem the best way to do it to me since it was flowing away. I would think your water is ending up back in the water table.

        Props to you for doing geothermal. Wish more people would see the long term payoff in a lot of these green options. Guess that's one thing good about the fuel prices going up, it brings the payback sooner on other options.

          Part of my property & 2 of my neighbors property is wetlands, & both of my neighbors dump their geothermal into the wetlands. I guess they figure the land is already wet so a little more water is not going to hurt anything.
