There is another thread where a member broke down the difference between carnuba myths and facts that really punches holes through the boutique wax mystique. However, I recommend using whatever works for you, I have tested (some successfully, some not) numerous different waxes/sealants. Meguiars seems to have many products that are comparable to the boutique brands.
If you like Klasse AIO, try Meg's D151 - I did and never looked back. It is simply awesome!

I have some P21S that I used for a show season on my '68 Mustang. After I discovered Nxt I haven't used it since LOL.

It's definitely good wax, no doubt and I plan to use it up. But I can get the same if not better results from Nxt for 1/3 the price.

I topped the Nxt with #26 with outstanding results.

In what sense? Both are all in one polishes that leave a waxed finish.

I've got both and they seem fairly similar to me, except I like the D151 better as it seems to have a bit more cut to it but is still mild.

Klasse AIO could best be described as a cleaner wax. It's abrasive free and contains a light chemical polish. It is intended to be used for Concourse events and the everyday daily driver.

Meguiar's D151, on the other hand, is designed with high-volume shops in mind. It's made to quickly restore oxidized and poorly maintained finishes and leave protection behind. It has abrasives which make it a polish with wax.

Klasse AIO would equate more to something like ColourX.

              Re: boutique waxes

You will always have to sides of the arguement and two valid opinions

Opinion One: People unwilling to spend the money on for a high end wax. Typically justify the decision by bragging about how sensible they are. Even if they tried the wax they unlikely to admit or see a difference and will continue to look down on those who do.

Opinion Two: People who buy on passion. They see a difference whether there is one or not and are comfortable in this. They are less likely to knock the other group (as the other group is to knock them).

A sale is a transfer of feelings, so it is as much about how the wax makes somebody who uses it feels, more then the actual differences (whether they exist or not).

Personally, I have used just about every high end wax on the market and found some to look good (to my likening) and some that don't. For my money, there is no better wax then Dodo Juice Supernatural, but at 200 dollars a wooden tub, it isn't for everybody. But then again the fact that (IMO) it looks better then an 1800 dollar tub of Zymol Vintage makes it seem like a bargin (in comparision).

S100 is the same as the regular P21S wax not the 100%

What about those people who don't trust their personal bias and who are willing to buy a high end wax and compare it to an affordable OTC wax but then get *others* to judge which looks better?

                    Re: boutique waxes

How many on this forum really care about durability? 1) We like to clean our cars and if we have to wax them every month or so, who cares. In northern Indiana, I can usually wax until early December and start again in early March, so three months is the most I have to go between waxes and if it gets really bad I can put a heater in the garage and wax about any time. 2) People that pay to have their cars detailed (waxed) would like the durability, but most of them are not going to take care of their car good enough that no matter how durable a wax is it is not going to last. IMO, most companies that say their wax will last for x number of months are saying so in a perfect environment and is using it as a sales pitch. Besides how do you measure durability? I spent 2 weeks earlier this summer in Texas in 95+ temps, Houston environment, & bugs of all shapes and sizes from Indiana to Texas and back. I washed my car once in Texas and wiped it down with UQD, and washed it again and wiped it down when I got home. The car has not been waxed since mid April and it still repels water, shines, and bugs wipe off with UQD. The wax I last used on it was NXT2. If there is anything more durable for the money I would like to try it.

                    Just my 2 cents.

                    Dave

                      That's why I said P21S, instead of P21S 100%.

Although thought I wanted durability when I got serious, I do not think I could go 10 weeks without waxing my cars now. I wash them regularly and try to maintain them. I gave up the durability quest fairly quickly. It is like trying to stretch an oil change to 10k miles even with synthetics. In the end what have you proven? Bragging rights on durability?

I like that new car just waxed shine and knowing it is one of the best detailed cars in any parking lot. I want something easy to apply so I can do it every 8-10 weeks, does not stain trim, and gives a nice gloss. How else can I use the DA polisher and pads I got and justify every other purchase (towels, dressings, etc). There are too many product to try.

I think that p21s ,Souveran, Zymol are good waxes...but they don't worth the extra money...many people that are not entusiasts, don't see the difference between a car prepared with GC orNXT and a car prepared with Zymol or Souveran...only p21s leaves a nice bright/liquid finish for a relative "low"" price, but it's not so better than a GC or than a NXT...
