Mike- What are the specs on that old Chebby of yours? It looks a little long to be a K5 with 3/4 or 1ton running gears. Did you chop the roof off a pickup or what?

When I retire (30-35 years from now) I want a K5, either body style older than 74 with a full convertible roof. Ah... someday....

It's a real 1975 GMC Jimmy with 3/4 ton running gear out of a 1980 4x4 Suburban with 4:11 gears. Posi-track in the rear, limited slip in the front. Currently it has a 350 Small Block Chevy engine, stock build with Doug Thorley Headers and Flow Masters. I removed the 4-Speed Manual Transmission and installed a 700R4 rebuilt with a shift kit installed by Dana Sniff who's a 35 year veteran of building up transmissions for street rods and race cars.

Just purchased a set of 35" Boggers via an eBay auction that with any luck will be here on Thursday via Kevin Brown...

I have a line on a 454 engine which is what the truck really needs especially with these new tires.

I guess I'm one of the few people that doesnt think it looks especially good, the front half looks pretty good, but the rear looks bad IMO, just like the Camaro

Did you cut the roof off? 75s still had the roof over the front seat, didn't they? The low end grunt of the 454 would make for great driveability improvement over the 350. I'd prefer a turbo'd 6.2/6.5, but that's just me.

          Nice truck. Very nice!

People who get something like that couldnt careless about gas. I know if I had one it would be the last thing I would be thinking about.

Currently the Grand Cherokee SRT-8 is selling like hot cakes. America doesnt care about high gas prices.
