Not sure if you can....aac is at the heart of Mp4 compression...I have a product called Audacity which is an audio editor...I looked to see if I could convert to Mp3 and it doesn't appear that I can....If you Google "convert aac to Mp3" you'll get a lot of hits...give Audacity a look too...

aac is for ipod correct? I use Itunes and set it up so when you import music it goes to mp3 format. If you buy from Itunes store, burn to a CD-RW and import it as mp3. I don't think you can convert purchased music right in Itunes. All you have to do is right click and convert to mp3 format.
http://www.media-convert.com/ is a good resource that requires no installation and just does the processing on their servers. You can convert from a huge number of file types to a number of others. I checked and that includes AAC to MP3.
