  • Fun day tomorrow!

Even though I am getting up at about 0530AM, I get to go drive a 20 ton dump truck all day that has A/C and an air-ride seat! Woo-hoo! Can't wait!

Tyler have you ever driven one before? If you haven't it will be fun for you.
        Have fun, be careful!

The one I drove needed 1/2 of the truck to have paint on it, but the paint that was there could probably use some M66.

Never did, got trained on it for about 10-15 minutes, then had at it.

            Re: Fun day tomorrow!

Here are some pictures of the same truck I got to drive.

The tires were about 6' tall, max load is 44,000 lbs. I made 51 dumps, with some problems (the guy overloading me several times). But that is still 2,244,000 lbs of quarry rock moved by me alone! If you ever have the chance to drive one, go for it. It is some work to run it, but man, the experience alone was worth it! I definitely wouldn't mind going back for more! Maybe I can drive the bigger one!

              Looks like you had fun!
Are you going to detail it now that you've used it?

Never driven a rock truck but I got to ride around in a triple 7 on a strip job for a couple loads. Defiantly an experience..

I could easily get a job driving a rock truck in the mines that paid very good for someone like me(upwards of $20 an hour) but its pretty risky for a guy as young as me that doesnt need it to support a family(still in college). Other than that, I could run over a pickup and not know it in one of those.

They have an R-30 too. I pulled up behind it and the end of the dump bucket was a high as I was! I could put about 4 of my truck in that thing! I can only imagine what it was like in that one^^^!
