Hi Folks,
I recently made my annual summer trek from Miami to Atlanta and back with various stops in between to waste money and have fun. Along the way, something weird happened a couple of times.
At some of the gas stations (not all) I would put in the nozzle and start to pump and it would immediately cut off. Sometimes I would see little blops of gas spurt out. I would wriggle the nozzle and try different angles and finally found that if I turned it totally sideways and almost upsidedown it would pump.
I also noticed that each station where this happened had older style pumps where you have to lift the little lever rather than push the start button.
Is there something weird about these old style pumps? No one else seemed to be having a problem. Perhaps there's some strange shape of the Mustang tank that I"m not aware of?
Any insights would be appreciated. Curiosity has gotten the better of me.
