  • Meguiars stuff go "kaboom" ?

    Hi all.

My team and myself will be going off to the interior parts of SABAH Borneo to do some charity work and also do some teaching to the kids there. We'll be in the wild around 2-3weeks.

Anyhow, since they voted me to be the car wash guy on the trip ( blessing in disguise), I was planning to carry some detailing products namely -

    Shampoo plus,
    #135,
#21 2.0 (stored in ketchup bottle),
    SDeg,
    APC,
    M23 (mirror glaze-odor elim),
D151 (stored in ketchup bottle), etc

    * Dline in the 350ml hand pump bottles, M23 &#135 (detailer spray bottle).

Now, these products are gonna be stored in the back seat of my Hilux (tacoma/tundra). The heat is gonna be around 30-40 Celcius (max 93F min 75F)

Since some places (esp afternoon) there are no shades where we gonna park all the cars - Is this safe? Will the products be damaged? or worse - go KABOOM in my car?

(worried as theres alot of expensive equipments in my car - generator at the back, 7 laptops, gps units, walkies, flood lights, HD cameras, etc)

    Please help.

    Thanks, Tim

    Put them under the seats?

Try to keep the product out of the direct sunlight. If possible. Try venting a window. So the heat will dissipate somewhat.

Hey Tyler, under the seat; No can do as theres not much of a room there. But thnks anyway.

J.A. , yeah didnt think of that. I'll let down the windows abit.

Was wondering, if the mobile detailers can keep their vehicles under the sun, and their still posting here, well I guess they survived (lol)

I just worried of the other stuff in the car.

Are they going to be in a crate of sorts? Bring a white towel and lay it over the crate. Will help reflect heat and keep them out of direct light.

I was thinking to put in a cooler box or similar. Thanks for the towel tip though.

              Bingo!

Combine these two ideas, a dedicated storage container with a white towel over it and kept out of direct sun when possible and you should be okay.

You can also check the closed containers for pressure as it heats up and crack the lids to vent any excess pressure then re-check when it cools down to maybe allow a little air back into the bottle so the bottle doesn't try to collapse into itself.
