  • Travelling with Meguiars Products abroad the US

Hi, I´m from Buenos Aires, Argentina. A friend of mine who lives in NYC is coming down here in a few weeks, I would like to buy the Quick detailing kit and the Ultimate quick detailer, and I was wondering if he could have any problem on travelling with this stuff abroad, I mean if US customs could consider them dangerous and enforce him to not travel with them on his luggage (not the carry on, obviously).

    Thanks!

    Gonzalo

No problem at all as long as he keeps them in the luggage area not to take them on board.

I have traveled with a few Meguiar's products in check in luggage and never had any problems.

Don't remember ever trying to take anything on with me as carry on.

        Hope that helps...

Why not Mike? If it was a long flight, I would be compelled to detail something on the plane!

Anything over 3oz. must be in checked luggage, I think up to 5 liters total. Carry on can have 1 quart sized ziplock with as many 3oz. and under bottles that you can shove in there.

If you have any specific questions, you can call TSA and they will tell you yes or no, and where it should packed.

I would put it all in zip lock bags just incase it leaks. Guess it wouldnt be a bad thing to smell like UQD but it would be expensive cologne.

Re-reading the original post, I would think that there would more likely be a problem if they check his luggage when he arrives than when he leaves. Just make sure he calls the TSA and asks to be on the safe side.

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead but my next coming spring break I was thinking about buffing my mother's car but she lives in Houston, TX and I live in North Wales, PA......would I have any problem brining my buffer, cutting, polishing, and possible an APC on the plane if it's going to be in my luggage?

As long as the products are in your checked baggage, you'll be fine.

I have an uncle who put some detailing supplies in his checked luggage and didn't have a problem.

Re-read my above post (#8). Those are the sizes and how much you can take. You can also call TSA to double check anything.

One time my checked bags were stuffed with tools and products so much so that I tried to carry my Rotary Buffer with me on to the plane and they said no way. The stated reason they gave me was it was to unwieldy.
