NGK or Autolite, depends on which car I am installing plugs into. I use copper plugs and replace at 20k.

Yea, my Jeep came with NGK copper plugs and they were toast at 30k. Ill probably change the autolites again at 60k since they are so easy and cheap to change out.

Guess detailing the engine got the best of the plugs. they were deep down in the engine so they held water pretty good.

My plugs are the same way. mine are in the heads. it is a pain to change, unlike my thunderbird that the plugs are right on the side of the block.

Copper plugs are ment to be replaced at nomore then 30k, but they conduct electricity better then platinum. Both my cars are very easy to replace the plugs so changing every 20k is no preoblem. Autolites are great for Ford most of the guys on the mustang forums run Autolites or NGK. I use NGK mostly, I have then in my fiances Accord, they are in my DD Lincoln Mark VIII and I used them in my 12 sec DD stang Ahh back when I had the car b4 the family.
I would say stay away from Bosch, Champion and Splitfire

I use AC Delco's stock plugs on my '64 (R44TS - 350CI) and AC Delco iridiums on the Yukon, 100,000 mile plugs, changed them just a tick before 100,000 and they looked decent when I pulled them out, seems to run good, 134,000 miles on the clock and get consistent 16-17mpg.

Just put autolites and plug wires in my thunderbird today and there is a difference. it has a smooth idle now unlike before.

Just to point out, as I did earlier, certain engines don't like certain plugs. One thing for you Ford guys out there, the newer engines do not like Autolite plugs. If your MPG or power drops and you put in Autolite, don't rule them out. Autolite is made by the same company that makes the Motorcraft ones (which is why they look almost identical), but the Autolites do not meet Ford specs. Bosch seems to be another brand the newer Ford engines don't like.

I agree. The car had 100K on it and it was time to change them. I bought Bosch..... I went through several Bosch plugs soon after replacement.
Right after starting the SES light comes on, car is running rough again. Pulled the plug and it is cracked. Put in 6 new Motorcraft plugs and it purrs like a kitten!! Strange....
From that point on I stayed OEM. I have a Honda mower,I use NGK plugs.

I put those in because they were the cheapest. and I plan to get rid of this car soon. Once I get my steady paying job i plan on buying a Bullitt.

I use NGK in my 660R Raptor. That likes 'em!

Alex- your car may run fine with them. If it starts not too, may (well, maybe not) want to check them.
