Re: Power Ball 4paint?
They can make it look easy to use in the commercial, and for working on an isolated defect like a RIDS or Bird Dropping it will probably work better than just your hand.
But trying to buff out an entire car using a drill is actually cumbersome and a physical challenge at least to some degree because you'll have to hold grip of the drill with one hand to actually hold it and operate the speed trigger and then the case surround the motor with the other hand to control your buffing pattern.
Not easy to do for extended periods of time no matter what kind of pad you're using.
Meguiar's used to sell a buffing pad with a built in shank for use with a drill and I have adapters that attach our W-5500 pads and/or a 5/8"s thread backing plate to a drill and have used them all and like stated, it's easy to make it look easy doing just a small area but when you get out of bed early on a Saturday morning with the goal of buffing out an entire car well that's a completely different project.
For the price, you can't go wrong to at least try it and if it doesn't work keep your receipt and return it for a refund.
Do be sure to take some pictures and share your experience in this thread.

Re: Power Ball 4paint?
Ill give it a shot. Ive been detailing my truck for 4 years now by hand and its beginning to take its toll to where detailing is no longer fun its more of a choreI love to detail Im just looking to an easier way other than cheap buffers that look like they will destroy your paint. Which leads me to another question is it possible for these to leave holograms in the paint? I have some #82, Ill try that out first on the "Drill Buffer" and see how it will work. Im just worried now about holograms Im not a very strong guy only 142 at 5'11 and I dont entend to push all my weight on this drill. But Im still going to go out and buy it and Ill keep the receipt. I just dont want to do anything I can not undo thus forcing me to go to a pro who will make me fork out major $$$$. Ill take picks and keep you guys and gals updated, this weekend Ill try it out.

Re: Power Ball 4paint?
Save your $35 and then just save $20 per week towards a DA maybe. I've heard you can find the old g100s online for around $100. In a month you should be able to get the PC which would work much better, IMO. Just a thought.Lydia's Mobile Detailing

Re: Power Ball 4paint?
that is a thought... lol. Well no luck today no one in my small town carries them not even the local walley world. I asked if they might be getting some in and they have no clue... I am beginning to doubt this every day now... oh well if I can not find on until Christmas Ill just ask Sainty Clause if i can have one lol

Re: Power Ball 4paint?
I was in this situation as well and decided to go with one of the cheap orbital buffers that the local auto parts store carries. $20 got me a 6" DA that works fairly well! I would think it's more versatile than the PowerBall4Paint, and it hones real DA skills if you decided to purchase a G110 later.1998 Supermarine Blue Pearl Honda CR-V
