  • M19: The wax time has forgotten

Here is a wax that you never hear about. It's Meguiar's M1914 Professional Cleaner Wax! Basically, it's a paste version of M06 Cleaner Wax. The consistency allows you to really work the product to remove defects.

    Friends of M19

Kevin was kind enough to sell me this out of his collection.

I know a few of you have the older style tin of M19, so feel free to post a pic!

            Good observation.

Part of how a cleaner/wax works is the chemical cleaners need to penetrate in order to loosen, emulsify, dissolve any of the various contaminants you're trying to remove, M19 was very efficient at this considering it was a paste style wax. Of course remember when this product was first introduced we were still in the time of single stage paints where a wetter, softer paste wax would work better.

                Thanks Scott!

I'm not real sure when it was discontinued, but my guess would be around the same time M16 and the Medallion Series was discontinued.

sorry to bring this thread back from the dead but I don't understand this M19 M16, and M26 paste wax.....what exactly does it do? Do you still go about prepping the car like usual?

Yep! - Some prefer paste, others prefer liquid. Since using M16, I enjoy paste waxes.

M19 is a cleaner wax like ColorX or M66 and a paste version of M06

M16 is a great wax that is discontinued and sought after.

M26 is still sold but the can is different, it also comes in liquid and is a great wax. I have all three and then some.

This is my latest addition, M19 if you will

And the rest of my collection, and I do use all of them

                      (L to R) D151 sample, Cleaner Wax, NXT, NXT 2.0, ColorX, M16 (6 cans), Gold Class, M21, M26 liquid.

wow it's going to take me a long way to learn all these chemicals.....since i work for the dealership all we use is a commercial brand called Ardex which i believe isn't so bad just the finish doesn't last long. Recently I just found out we use some meguiar's heavy cuts but not sure which because my supervisor threw it out. For some odd reason the cutting compound had huge chunks in it and was a little watery.

Probably a good thing as it was probably old and no longer usable. It was probably not the right product for what you're going to need anyways.

I'm beginning my meguiar's collection slowly as of now. trying to buy all the cutting and polishing stuff so I can start doing side jobs. ATM I've been using the commercial stuff at my work to do side jobs.
